Dr. Jon Dillard

Dr. Jon Dillard was raised in a military family and has traveled to all corners of the United States – from Hawaii to Virginia. He earned his Bachelors of Science Degree in Kinesiology at University of Maryland, College Park. The specialty of podiatry became a newfound passion for Dr. Dillard resulting from his own experiences with chronic foot pain as a collegiate athlete for the men’s basketball team.

Upon earning his Bachelors of Science Degree, Dr. Dillard obtained his Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine Degree from Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. At Temple University he served as the Class Vice President and was inducted into the school’s honor society. Dr. Dillard completed his residency at Inova Fairfax Medical Campus in Northern Virginia where he was trained by orthopedic trauma surgeons responsible for treating professional athletes on the Washington Nationals and Washington Commanders.

During residency training, he served as chief resident performing more than 1500 procedures ranging from elective bunion surgery to complex rearfoot and ankle reconstruction. Dr. Dillard has been published in the Journal of the American Podiatric Medical Association. He has presented multiple research projects nationally and has lectured at various conferences throughout the Mid-Atlantic (United States). Following the completion of his training, he relocated to Maryland to stay close to his family.

As a foot and ankle specialist, Dr. Dillard brings extensive expertise to Shady Grove Podiatry specializing in minimally invasive techniques, joint replacement, sports medicine, trauma, and deformity correction. Whether it is conservative care or surgical intervention, Dr. Dillard strives to deliver personalized, compassionate patient care, consistently supported by the latest technology and evidence-based medicine. Dr. Dillard currently serves as Podiatry Section Chair at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital. He is board-certified by the American Board of Foot & Ankle Surgeons in both foot and reconstructive ankle surgery.

Outside of work, Dr. Dillard enjoys a variety of activities such as tennis, basketball, going to the beach, and spending time with his dog Wilson.
