Dr. Jon Dillard was raised in a military family and has traveled to all corners of the United States – from Hawaii to Virginia. He earned his Bachelors of Science Degree in Kinesiology from the School of Public Health at University of Maryland, College Park. The specialty of podiatry became a newfound passion for Dr. Dillard resulting from his own experiences with chronic foot pain as a collegiate athlete for the men’s basketball team.
Upon earning his Bachelors of Science Degree, Dr. Dillard obtained his Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine Degree from Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. With great discipline and hard work, Dr. Dillard earned numerous scholarships and was inducted into the Stirling-Hartford-DiPrimio Honorary Anatomical Society. Dr. Dillard completed his residency at Inova Fairfax Medical Campus in Northern Virginia, a Level I trauma center where he served as chief resident.
During residency training, he performed more than 1500 procedures, from elective bunion and hammertoe surgery to complex rearfoot and ankle reconstruction. In addition, he also presented multiple research projects nationally and lectured at various podiatric surgical conferences throughout the Mid-Atlantic (United States). Following the completion of his training, he relocated to Maryland and made it his home.
As a foot and ankle specialist, Dr. Dillard brings extensive expertise to Shady Grove Podiatry, specializing in ankle arthroscopy, sports medicine, total ankle replacement, flatfoot reconstruction, diabetic limb salvage, Charcot, and acute trauma. Whether it is conservative care or surgical intervention, Dr. Dillard strives to deliver personalized, compassionate and superior patient care for relief of foot and ankle pain, consistently supported by the latest technology and evidence-based medicine.
Outside of work, Dr. Dillard enjoys a variety of activities such as playing tennis, basketball, hiking, going to the beach and spending special time with family.
