Dr. David Baek is a distinguished podiatric surgeon at Shady Grove Podiatry, known for his expertise in advanced wound care, diabetic limb salvage, and sports medicine. He earned his graduate degree from Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine at Rosalind Franklin University in 2003, graduating in the top ten percent of his class. His academic excellence earned him multiple scholarships and a highly competitive externship focused on research and clinical advancement.
In 2006, Dr. Baek completed a three year residency at INOVA Fairfax Hospital, where he trained in state of the art medical and surgical techniques for the foot and ankle. As chief resident, he received specialized training through the plastic surgery department at Georgetown University Hospital, refining his skill in complex wound reconstruction and diabetic limb preservation.
His extensive experience has given him a deep understanding of high risk diabetic wounds and lower extremity pathology. He has authored publications, delivered lectures, and continually pursues hands-on training to remain at the forefront of modern treatment options.
As a dedicated endurance athlete who regularly competes in triathlons and marathons, he brings twenty years of sports medicine expertise to his practice. Additionally, Dr. Baek serves the community by providing foot and ankle care for the underserved population of Montgomery County as a volunteer physician with the Kaseman Clinic.
