Dr. David Siegel earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from the University of Maryland, College Park, where he consistently made the Dean’s List and developed a strong foundation in musculoskeletal health and exercise physiology. Dr. Siegel went on to earn his Doctorate from Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine, graduating in the top 10% of his class.
Following medical school, Dr. Siegel completed a rigorous three-year surgical residency at INOVA Fairfax Medical Campus, where he performed over 2,000 procedures ranging from routine foot care and bunion correction to advanced reconstructive surgery. His residency also provided him the unique opportunity to work alongside world-renowned orthopedic trauma surgeons which helped deepen his understanding of complex trauma and sports-related injuries.
Dr. Siegel has a particular interest in minimally invasive surgery, an area in which he has contributed original research. He is a co-author of a 2024 publication that describes a novel minimally invasive approach to foot and ankle surgery, highlighting his commitment to advancing innovative treatment methods. He also performs total ankle replacement surgery, offering patients with end-stage arthritis a path to restored mobility and quality of life through cutting-edge joint preservation and replacement techniques. He takes pride in blending the latest surgical advancements with personalized care, always tailoring treatment plans to each patient’s goals and lifestyle, as well as adhering to evidence based practice.
Known for his compassion and detail-oriented approach, Dr. Siegel believes that the foundation of successful care starts with truly listening to patients. He emphasizes collaboration, ensuring that patients feel heard and empowered throughout their treatment journey—whether their path involves conservative management or surgical intervention.
Originally from the D.C. metropolitan area and raised in a family of physicians, Dr. Siegel is excited to be back home and proud to join the team at Shady Grove Podiatry. Outside the clinic, he enjoys staying active through golf and fitness, and values time with family and friends.
